Instructional Systems Designer – Homeland Security

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the instructional design lifecycle—from needs analysis and storyboarding to final evaluation—using ADDIE and SAM models.
- Build rich, engaging CBT/WBT courses utilizing authoring tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Lectora.
- Ensure all e-learning courses are Section 508 compliant and adhere strictly to SCORM, xAPI, and LMS deployment standards.
- Work hand-in-hand with federal stakeholders, instructors, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate complex tactical aviation or maritime safety concepts into clear, educational designs.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 2 years of experience in instructional design, specifically focused on computer-based training (CBT) and web-based modules.
- Professional certification in Instructional Design, Education, or Training and Development.
- Mastery of Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar rapid-authoring systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background suitability check.
