About the role

  • Maintain systems to ensure 24/7/365 operation of applications
  • Deploy and maintain highly reliable, highly scalable systems and applications as part of the Infrastructure & Engineering team
  • Provide support, exception handling and mentoring for operational and development teams regarding Linux systems and configuration management
  • Create, design, deploy, improve and maintain storage systems and related applications for the DTAP street
  • Define, improve and implement internal processes and standards
  • Collaborate with other departments to translate needs into solutions
  • Manage tools through their entire life-cycle, including documentation and version control
  • Facilitate Agile work streams for technical teams
  • Represent the business on open-source projects and prefer open-source technologies over proprietary solutions

Requirements

  • Expertise in provisioning techniques (e.g., Puppet, Ansible)
  • Strong Linux administration (mostly Ubuntu) and FreeBSD binary compatibility
  • Experience with distributed storage systems (OpenZFS, CEPH)
  • Virtualization and orchestration with QEMU and Libvirt
  • Container management and deployment (Kubernetes, Rancher)
  • Familiarity with Enterprise applications (DNS/BIND, LDAP, GIT, Elastic stack, Jira)
  • Experience with cloud & scaling tools, load balancers, RabbitMQ
  • Database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, ETCD, InfluxDB)
  • IP networking infrastructure & security knowledge
  • Scripting for automation (Bash or Python)
  • Ownership of logging and monitoring systems (Icinga, Grafana)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and excellent written and spoken English
  • Keen documenter and continuous improvement contributor
  • Familiarity with physical and software defined networking techniques is a plus
