About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and grow a team of engineers
Manage, coach, and mentor 4 software engineers
Provide performance feedback and support career development
Establish and improve software development, operational efficiency, and delivery processes
Partner with Engineering leadership on department strategy and team-wide inefficiencies
Drive management initiatives across Engineering and Technology, including hiring, career development, policies, and budgets
Sponsor Engineering-wide guilds, projects, and activities
Collaborate with Product Management, Product Design, Marketing, other pods, and cross-functional teams
Lead successful development and delivery of pod projects and operations
Promote Teachable’s values and a diverse-team culture

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of software engineering experience
1–2+ years of combined technical leadership or people management experience
Proficiency in project management
Track record of making tradeoffs to deliver high-quality projects on time and aligned with business goals
Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams or domains
Ability to make progress amid ambiguity and minimal guidance
Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and ownership within teams
Experience mentoring individual contributors across seniority levels and specializations
Experience recruiting, hiring, and leading diverse engineering teams
