About the role

  • Provide leadership and direction to Accounting team
  • Supervising team members, evaluating performance and providing feedback
  • Development and maintenance of applicable metrics and reporting
  • Identify and lead business process improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with SOX and other internal controls and standard business practices
  • Review work product of other team members
  • May be assigned to management of one or more finance functional areas below:
  • Supervise process to prepare and review journal entries in accordance with regulatory and/or GAAP requirements
  • Review reconciliations and research discrepancies of balance sheet accounts
  • Review certain external regulatory filings and reporting
  • Manage the monitoring of cash general ledger accounts and reconciliation of bank accounts and statements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) or 4+ years professional work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in the application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • 2+ years of experience directly supervising employees or leading projects/teams
  • Experience with large process improvement and/or organizational efforts
  • CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA within the first six months of employment
  • Knowledge of GAAP, SEC rules, and Sarbanes Oxley Act requirements
  • Knowledge of quarterly, annual and periodic external reporting processes of 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and other SEC filings
  • Strong results orientation, which includes achieving commitments, performance metrics and required delivery dates
  • Ability to be a sharp, rigorous thinker who can operate as an intellectual leader among bright, high-energy people
  • Demonstrated experience in translating strategy into action with solid planning, execution and change management
