About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead review and enhancement of Board-approved governance documents
- Oversee enterprise-wide and team-specific fair banking training
- Manage the end-to-end issues management lifecycle for high-risk audit, regulatory, and self-identified findings
- Oversee corrective action, sustainability activities, and executive-level closure packages
- Develop executive-ready communications, governance updates, Board reporting materials, and senior management presentations
- Produce fair access/fair banking reporting and risk insights for stakeholders, executives, committees, and regulators
- Lead participation in enterprise risk assessment activities
- Oversee governance and risk assessment processes, including the Fair Lending Risk Assessment methodology
- Advise the business on regulatory and policy changes
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Compliance programs
- Guide partners through effective Compliance program development, implementation, oversight, and management
- Represent Compliance on internal or external committees
- Conduct functional- or enterprise-level analysis and make recommendations
- Maintain oversight of management reporting and analysis
- Manage high-risk initiatives and escalations
- Develop and oversee business-line policies and Compliance Team procedures
- Conduct enterprise-wide annual risk assessments for all TD businesses
- Research emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements
- Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching, and development support to team members
- Build productive relationships with business partners and stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience
- Subject matter expertise in fair banking, fair access, and consumer protection laws, rules, and regulations, including FHA, ECOA, UDAAP/UDAP, CRA, MLA, SCRA, and ADA
- Strong understanding of Compliance Management System (CMS) principles
- Experience managing CMS components, including compliance risk assessments, reporting, training, and issues management
- Strong written communication skills and ability to develop executive-ready closure packages
- Experience preparing presentation materials for executive management, governance committees, regulators, and auditors
- Proven people leadership, coaching, and talent development experience
- Strong relationship-building, influencing, and constructive challenge skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- CRCM preferred
- Ability to provide expert Compliance advice and guidance
- Ability to conduct complex data analysis, modeling, and analytics
- Ability to manage high-risk initiatives and escalations
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
- Occasional domestic travel; no international travel
