About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and support critical applications for TD’s customer book of record
  • Modernize existing applications using cutting-edge technology
  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performance distributed applications
  • Lead and contribute to the design and development of scalable enterprise applications
  • Conduct root cause analysis and present remediation options
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, development PODs, and technical teams
  • Estimate timelines and effort for design and development tasks
  • Identify risks and potential issues in solution approaches and use cases
  • Ensure designs use reusable components and align with business requirements
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, design discussions, and peer reviews
  • Follow TD internal policies, technology control standards, and regulatory guidelines
  • Provide technical support for escalated incidents and outages
  • Create and maintain design and solution artifacts
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Provide technical leadership within the POD

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree, or technical certificate
  • Strong academic background, such as computer science or engineering
  • 7+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js
  • Strong proficiency in Python or other scripting
  • 7+ years of development and end-to-end design experience with J2EE and Java 8
  • 7+ years of experience with Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Spring Security, including OAuth and LDAP
  • Experience using AI for the software development life cycle
  • Linux or PowerShell scripting proficiency
  • REST API experience
  • SDLC knowledge
  • Knowledge of Event Hub, Kafka, or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with Maven, Jenkins, Gradle, Git, and Nexus
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server, including SQL scripting
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with DB2 is nice to have
  • Azure cloud environment experience is nice to have
  • Familiarity with Datadog is nice to have
  • Experience with Autosys for job scheduling is nice to have
  • Banking domain project experience is nice to have
