About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct end-to-end investigations of higher-complexity and sensitive financial crime cases
  • Investigate AML, Sanctions/ABAC, and other financial crime cases
  • Apply methodologies to collect, preserve, and analyze physical and digital evidence
  • Assess and prioritize files and ensure investigative protocols are applied
  • Apply reasonable grounds to suspect money laundering or terrorist financing
  • Recommend account demarketing or freezing through the appropriate investigative unit
  • Work with financial institutions, law enforcement, nonprofits, and government counterparts to share information and reduce exposure
  • Identify procedural weaknesses, industry risks, typologies, and trends
  • Maintain relationships with internal partners including HR, Employment Standards, and Legal
  • Lead workstreams and serve as project lead for complex projects and initiatives
  • Evaluate processes and recommend enhancements to escalation and feedback mechanisms
  • Conduct internal and external research and support presentations and communications to management
  • Monitor service and productivity and implement process improvements
  • Manage confidential information and escalate high-risk issues
  • Analyze functional or enterprise-level results and make recommendations
  • Monitor emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate as a team member, share knowledge, mentor others, and support team development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Sound knowledge of bank products, systems, policies, and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of criminal investigative techniques
  • Knowledge of laws governing evidence collection and court proceedings
  • Knowledge of financial and criminal trends
  • Expertise in AML, Sanctions/ABAC, and financial crime investigations
  • Knowledge of digital evidence collection, preservation, and analysis
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Ability to interpret guidelines, standards, policies, and analytical results
  • Ability to manage confidential information and high-risk issues
  • Ability to perform sedentary work continuously
