About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain understanding of regulatory requirements and customer trends
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for small business underwriting strategy
- Drive design and development of new underwriting rules
- Lead end-to-end management of small business insurance underwriting strategy
- Analyze key business drivers and drive changes to achieve financial objectives
- Collaborate with stakeholders on underwriting strategy discussions
- Develop and maintain policy wordings and customer documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years General Insurance experience
- CIP, FCIP, CRM or equivalent insurance designation, or actively working towards an insurance designation
- Commercial Automobile Insurance underwriting, wordings and endorsements knowledge and experience
- Experience developing and maintaining Commercial Insurance company underwriting manuals
- Experience developing provincial regulatory underwriting filings for regulators
- Strong critical thinking skills and financial acumen
- Ability to make fact-based recommendations in a timely manner
- Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of market intelligence and underwriting research
