About the role
- Supervises a team of Underwriters
- Oversees daily underwriting activities, including workflow, turnaround, productivity, escalations and quality monitoring
- Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff
- Manages employees in lower complexity lanes
- Underwrites and decisions loans that are escalated by their team
- Ensures 48 hour turn time SLA is met
- Enables accuracy and efficiency of workflow and staff
- Conducts staff meetings and monthly one on one meetings with underwriters
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or work experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree required
- 10+ Years of related experience
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of bank operations, department policies, procedures, products, services, systems and applications
- Proven ability to interact with all TD Bank and departmental customers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent PC skills and familiarity with standard office equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated and exceptional customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven supervisory experience, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills
- In-depth knowledge of accounting
- Flexibility in adjusting priorities
- Proven ability to pro-actively manage workflow
