About the role
- Manage a portfolio of assigned client accounts, ensuring strong, long-term relationships
- Identify opportunities for account growth and expansion, upselling and cross-selling products or services as appropriate
- Manage the independent Sales Rep organization relationship
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet organizational goals
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to drive sales strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within each account
- Track and manage sales activity and customer interactions using CRM software
- Monitor and analyze account performance metrics to ensure targets are met and provide strategic recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product, and customer service to ensure client needs are addressed and fulfilled
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of sales representatives to achieve and exceed targets
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Develop action plans to address any sales performance gaps or challenges
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or a combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of sales experience with automation, distribution, or manufacturing; experience in a leadership role, with participation in, or control of the sales department a plus
- 3+ years of experience managing a sales team (company employees and independent sales reps)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and strategic objectives as an individual and sales leader
- Experience working with technical teams to deliver automation solutions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities
- Excellent project management skills
- Must be a self-starter with integrity, innovation, and can pay attention to details
