About the role
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset data across the 3 Waters asset registers (BAU).
- Action and track day-to-day requests for asset information from internal customers and stakeholders, escalating where needed.
- Run standard updates in asset management models (e.g. PowerPlan) and learn how outputs support planning and investment decisions.
- Produce routine reports and dashboards (e.g. risk, critical assets, performance) and complete basic data checks and investigations.
- Follow and maintain documented processes and work instructions, and suggest small improvements when you spot a better way.
- Provide BAU support for asset management tools (e.g. basic troubleshooting, user access/support tasks, and helping maintain simple user guides).
Requirements
- A relevant qualification (or working towards one) in a field like Business, ICT, Geography, Spatial Science, or Engineering.
- Comfort working with data (through study, internships, or a previous role), including spreadsheets (Excel), databases, or business systems—and a willingness to learn Council’s asset systems.
- An interest in GIS/spatial data and strong attention to detail (basic skills are great—training and development will be provided).
- A BAU mindset: reliable follow-through, good time management, and a customer-service approach to responding to requests.
- Willingness to learn new tools and communicate information clearly; exposure to asset modelling tools (e.g. PowerPlan) is helpful but not required.
- Good written communication skills for documenting steps and updating records, plus a collaborative approach when working with Digital Services and other stakeholders.
- Experience with Accela (or similar systems) is an advantage, but we’re also happy to train the right person.
Benefits
- 5 weeks annual leave
- flexible hours
- work from home options
- career development opportunities
