About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform controls engineering design duties under the supervision of the Director of Electrical Engineering
Design control system architecture consisting of PLC, DCS and SCADA based systems
Design control system communication schemes and protocols
Specify cybersecurity requirements
Specify control system requirements for power and utility equipment including: boilers, engine generators, pumping systems, gas compressors, water and waste water unit operations
Develop control systems equipment, materials and installation specifications
Develop control system loop diagrams
Evaluate control system integration proposals and review technical submittals
Assist in project coordination with other engineering disciplines
Layout electrical equipment, route conduit, duct-bank and cable systems
Support construction in the office and field by reviewing submittals, shop drawings and reports, as well as inspecting installation and oversee testing and commissioning
Respond to customer and contractor questions
Participate in site surveys and inspections

Requirements

What you’ll need

Knowledge and experience engineering control systems for power stations, central utility plants, water and waste-water plants
Knowledge and experience specifying grid connecting switchgear and systems
Knowledge and experience with all major PLC based control systems: Rockwell, Schneider, etc.
Knowledge and experience with major DCS systems: ABB, Emerson, GE, Honeywell, etc.
Experience in managing and coordinating multidiscipline projects
Working knowledge and utilization of Autocad
Revit experience is a plus
Excellent communication skills
