About the role
- Senior Backend Developer focusing on WordPress or Drupal backend development and integrations
- Implement custom plugins, themes (WordPress) or custom modules (Drupal)
- Develop headless/decoupled architectures and RESTful APIs
- Ensure web security best practices and implement security measures
- Optimize hosting environments, perform server administration and performance tuning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies and ticketing tools (JIRA)
- Debug complex issues and provide technical problem-solving
- Work primarily remote with occasional onsite presence at least once per month; 8-hour shift starting between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM
Requirements
- Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering or related fields
- 5 years minimum experience in backend development with a focus on WordPress or Drupal
- Strong knowledge of PHP and SQL
- Experience with headless integration, including decoupled architecture and RESTful APIs
- Knowledge and experience working with WPEngine and/or Pantheon
- Ability to implement custom plugins and themes in WordPress or custom modules in Drupal
- Understanding of web security best practices and the ability to implement security measures for websites
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git)
- Good understanding of hosting environments, server administration, and optimization techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies and project management tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work with cross-functional teams
- Experience in JIRA or at least other ticket tracking tools
- Must have a fast and stable internet connection
- Preferably, available to start immediately
