About the role
- Spearhead development of a robust AWS DevOps capability for Mastercard's database products
- Enable full lifecycle CI/CD for database products in AWS environments
- Launch self-service datastore offerings via the AWS Forge Marketplace
- Design, build, and maintain a scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platform
- Collaborate with platform engineers, database engineers, and architects to support deployment pipelines and troubleshoot integration issues
- Build and manage infrastructure using CloudFormation/CDK (TypeScript) and Python
- Develop CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, BitBucket/GitHub, Artifactory, and Sonarqube
- Drive platform reliability and scalability through automation, observability (Splunk, Dynatrace), and incident response
- Mentor junior engineers and lead architecture discussions and code reviews
- Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven expertise in infrastructure automation and cloud-native development
- Deep understanding of CI/CD practices and cloud security frameworks
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and optimize complex systems
- Strong understanding of major SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, DocumentDB and related AWS RDS services
- Knowledge of a multi-account AWS platform using services such as EKS, EC2, RDS, Glue, EMR, MSK, S3, IAM, VPC, Transit Gateway, and Control Tower
- Build and manage infrastructure using CloudFormation/CDK(TypeScript), with fluency in Python
- Develop CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, BitBucket/GitHub, Artifactory, and Sonarqube
- Experience with observability and incident response tools (Splunk, Dynatrace)
- Experience with Azure and hybrid cloud environments is a plus
- Mentoring and leadership experience; lead architecture discussions and code reviews
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, SysOps, Database Engineer (nice to have)
- Experience with PCI auditing and CIS benchmarking in cloud environments (nice to have)
