About the role
- Lead and develop a global team managing background check adjudications and work authorization processes across all regions, ensuring timely, compliant execution aligned with Mastercard policies and local regulations.
- Define global strategy and standards for BGC and RTW processes, ensuring consistency while accommodating regional regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex or high-risk cases, partnering with Talent Acquisition, Legal, Compliance, and regional HR leaders to resolve issues and mitigate risk.
- Drive global process optimization and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across markets.
- Ensure global audit readiness and compliance, implementing robust controls and monitoring adherence to workflows.
- Champion data privacy and confidentiality standards, ensuring compliance with global and regional regulations (including HIPAA and GDPR).
- Collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders to align global practices with enterprise priorities and contribute to policy development.
- Coach and mentor regional leads, fostering skill development, engagement, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing global HR operations teams, with expertise in compliance, onboarding, or background screening.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams across multiple geographies.
- Deep knowledge of global background screening and work authorization requirements, including familiarity with regional regulations.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing and building trust across functions and cultures.
- Operational mindset with a continuous improvement focus, leveraging data and technology to enhance processes globally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems; experience with Workday is a plus.
