About the role

  • Build and maintain best-of-breed products and infrastructure as part of a nimble development team focused on cloud technologies
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy products and supporting services from the ground up
  • Iterate with product management and customers for feedback and input
  • Develop high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs
  • Work with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and other infrastructure technology
  • Collaborate on full-stack concerns including React/JavaScript/TypeScript where needed
  • Use modern CI/CD and automation tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins
  • Respond to and debug production incidents under pressure

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • CS Degree preferred
  • 5+ years industry experience
  • Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs
  • Knowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred), Node.js, Python, Ruby, Rust, or Java
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and other infrastructure technology
  • Experience with React, Javascript, or typescript desired
  • Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins
  • Demonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, long-term code maintainability and supportability
  • Believes in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of development
  • Experienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environments
  • Has knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server side & browser side) and the versatility to learn new tools
