About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end design for a product area — problem framing through wireframes, prototypes, detailed specs, delivery QA, and iteration for enterprise workflows used by lease administrators, portfolio managers, and facilities teams.
- Run discovery with enterprise customers — interviews, usability tests, and workflow observation — and translate findings into design decisions that shape what gets built, not just how it looks.
- Build design system foundations — identify reusable patterns, document components, and contribute to the Tango Design System alongside the Director of Product Design and other designers.
- Modernize legacy enterprise UX — redesign workflows that work but frustrate, within real constraints: data models that can't change overnight, user habits with embedded muscle memory, and migration paths that don't break production.
- Build and validate prototypes. Use AI-powered design and prototyping tools to create coded prototypes for user testing and ship design artifacts directly into the development pipeline.
- Partner daily with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and Customer Success. Communicate design rationale to non-designers. Advocate for the user when it's uncomfortable. Use AI-powered design tools as standard practice for research synthesis, design iteration, prototyping, and cross-team documentation.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years in product design with demonstrated work on complex B2B or enterprise products — multi-step, data-dense workflows with multiple user types and real operational consequences.
- A portfolio that shows process, not just polish — research, problem framing, iteration, trade-offs, and outcomes.
- Comfort with ambiguity and legacy systems — can define the problem when there's no brief, design within constraints you didn't choose, and make progress without waiting for perfect information.
- Strong cross-functional partnership — explains design decisions to engineers and PMs without jargon, holds a position with evidence, and changes direction when the evidence points somewhere else.
- Deep experience with enterprise workflow design — lease administration, facilities management, project management, or adjacent enterprise SaaS domains preferred.
- Design system instinct — has identified patterns, documented components, or contributed to a design system. Understands why consistency matters across a product and has opinions about how to get there.
- Proficiency in Figma and comfort working with AI-powered design tools for prototyping, research synthesis, and documentation.
- Familiarity with modern design practices: continuous discovery, usability testing, and data-driven iteration.
- Experience with internationalized products supporting multiple languages and regional markets is a plus.
