About the role

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and manual machining equipment to produce precision parts, molds, fixtures, and jigs.
  • Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings to determine machining methods, setups, and tooling requirements.
  • Perform complex CNC programming using CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion360) to achieve tight tolerances and superior accuracy.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of finished components using precision measurement instruments to ensure quality compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to improve manufacturability, tooling design, and machining processes.
  • Perform mold maintenance, including disassembly, cleaning, repair, and reassembly.
  • Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure peak performance.
  • Safely handle machines, tools, and materials, adhering to all safety guidelines and participating in required safety training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or trade school training preferred.
  • Proven experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation, with additional manual machining expertise.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Fusion360, or similar programs.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, shop mathematics, and metal properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, operating instructions, and safety manuals.
  • Mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, lubrication, and cooling systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with machining operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Desired: Experience in mold fabrication and maintenance for medical or high-precision manufacturing.
  • Desired: Background in process optimization and tooling improvements.
