About the role
- Use data to spot stories, angles, and trends that appeal to international media and their audiences.
- Explore internal data (resumes, hiring patterns, user behaviour) and public/third-party sources to uncover surprising angles.
- Develop and run light research projects to support
- "state of" reports and trends pieces.
- Translate raw or messy data into headlines.
- Partner with the PR team to shape compelling narratives that resonate with our audience.
- Comfortably collect or organize data using scraping tools such as Python, APIs or manual research.
- Ensure data accuracy, transparency, and ethical use in all research.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in data storytelling, insights research, editorial research or data-driven communications.
- Ability to find "hooks" or trend narratives in data.
- Excellent writing and explanation skills.
- Familiarity with basic scraping tools, APIs or Python/R for simple data gathering.
- Ability to work independently, juggling multiple projects while hitting deadlines.
- Understanding of ethical/legal considerations in collecting and using third-party data.
