About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage administration of employee workers’ compensation claims for multiple companies across multiple states
  • Manage insurance carriers, vendor partners, and other claims-related service providers
  • Support Loss Control and Safety Training activities
  • Formulate, develop, and coordinate claim-related activities to mitigate workers’ compensation risk and claims
  • Ensure compliance across TAG and supported practices
  • Facilitate workers’ compensation claim activities and develop strategies to optimize claim management procedures
  • Review and manage employee and patient incident reports from initial report through closure
  • Determine whether claims should be reported to carriers
  • Handle payroll and claims reporting for monopolistic states
  • Explain the claim process directly to employees
  • Coordinate return-to-work programs with HR, medical providers, management, and third parties
  • Direct third parties to resolve claims quickly and cost-effectively
  • Process injured-worker treatment and billing
  • Gather claims data and information and facilitate claim reviews
  • Complete annual BLS reporting to states
  • Manage workers’ compensation policy retention and updates based on entity changes
  • Maintain internal claim files
  • Compile, review, and analyze reports to identify trends
  • Report applicable Urgent Care events and claims to insurance carriers
  • Create and maintain data in information systems or databases
  • Build and manage relationships with third parties, insurance carriers, outside legal counsel, and other claims-related parties
  • Assist with safety training and provide input on safety issues
  • Support risk projects and initiatives and promote loss-prevention strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • College degree preferred, or more than two years of claims experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a claims analyst, administrator, or in a similar function
  • Ability to lead a multi-state program involving employees who are not onsite at the same location
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to investigate and direct the claims management process
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • History of implementing programs that positively impact claim costs is a plus
  • Technical and professional expertise in claims management and loss prevention
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate
  • Initiative, problem-solving, analytical, and results-driven abilities
