About the role

  • Act as the technical bridge between Tactacam and external partners by reviewing ODM designs
  • Facilitate the development of ODM mechanical architecture
  • Propose innovative solutions to complex ODM obstacles
  • Apply advanced engineering expertise to influence design direction and optimize mechanical performance
  • Review ODM rapid prototyping efforts and oversee testing protocols
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Stay on the leading edge of mechanical engineering trends and technologies
  • Review, approve, and oversee documentation provided by ODMs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience with a strong focus on product development, preferably in consumer electronics or ruggedized outdoor equipment.
  • Expertise in transitioning products from concept to mass production, including deep experience working closely with contract manufacturers and overseas suppliers.
  • Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software; experience with FEA, thermal analysis, injection molding, and tolerance stack-up analysis to properly audit partner designs.
  • Proven track record of solving complex engineering problems through innovative design, rapid iteration, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, manage risk, and drive multiple projects to completion in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
