About the role
- Develop and maintain electrical hardware design(s).
- Collaborate with the cross functional development team to accomplish project deliverables.
- Perform electrical circuit design, circuit simulation, and layout with Altium Designer.
- Perform schematic and PCB Layout review of team member designs.
- Manage and develop BOMs with emphasis on High Volume, Low Cost designs.
- Develop, document, and validate electrical designs which meet functional, quality, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
- Resolve and track technical issues in Altium A365 and project management tools (JIRA).
- Review and qualify alternative electrical parts during engineering validation and development stages and support sustaining engineering in qualifying alternative parts after production release.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure electrical design meets EMC compliance requirements.
- Operate as a self-motivated professional who is proactive in finding solutions to existing and new challenges.
Requirements
- MS or BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical design with consumer or commercial products, or similar.
- Direct experience designing electrical systems with:
- Microcontrollers, SOCs, memory devices, power systems, high speed transceivers, and LTE/WiFi/BT/GPS devices.
- Various serial interfaces such as I2C, I2S, SPI, UART, USB, MIPI, SDI and SLVS-EC signals.
- Proficient in Altium and Altium 365 Platform.
- Familiar with EMC Compliance standards and certification process (CE EMC, FCC).
- Proven ability in independently analyzing root cause, complex design debugging, and problem solving with minimal guidance.
