About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Consults with external clients, and associates, on how best to attain plan objectives while maintaining the plans’ qualified status
  • Reviews plan documents, and helps clients resolve complex operational and regulatory compliance issues relating to qualified and nonqualified retirement plans
  • Independently analyzes new laws and regulations to determine impacts on plans and holds discussions with clients
  • Responsible for delivering consultative services across their client base, which will primarily consist of large retirement plans
  • Maintains a high level of regulatory knowledge and understanding of industry trends
  • Analyzes impact of new regulations and legislation on client needs and RPS services
  • Proactively educates clients and RPS associates regarding legislative and regulatory developments
  • Communicates findings to client, internal parties, and client’s attorneys and other advisors
  • Participates in the sales process
  • Serves as a lead subject matter expert on cross functional taskforces and committees

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5+ years of total relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Advanced designations from American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) (QKA – CPC) or equivalent professional designation
  • Broad knowledge of plan documentation and plan testing concepts and practices for 401k, profit sharing, 403(b), ESOP, Puerto Rico and 457 plans.
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations affecting plan design and plan documents
  • FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
