About the role
- Empower internal stakeholders with timely, accurate, and relevant data from financial databases.
- Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of data infrastructure.
- Fulfill ad-hoc data requests.
- Enhance data literacy across the organization.
- Maintain database integrity through routine monitoring, validation, and maintenance tasks.
- Investigate and resolve data-related issues to ensure data quality.
- Administer and maintain database permissions and security protocols.
- Act as a central point of contact for internal data inquiries and requests.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and fulfilling requests.
- Guide and assist business users on proper use of financial systems and data tools.
- Generate reports and dashboards using BI visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Create and maintain documentation and instructional guides to improve data literacy.
- Support the development of self-service data tools and resources.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist with data-related projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Information Systems, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Motivated, organized self-starter with a high level of attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and tolerance for ambiguity.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work within cross-functional teams such as Finance, Accounting, and Technology to coordinate and drive priorities and objectives.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- 2–4+ years of experience in data analytics, database maintenance, or a technical support role within financial services (preferred).
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis (preferred).
- Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools like Tableau or Power BI (preferred).
- Experience with project management tools such as Rally or Jira (preferred).
- Experience with programming languages such as Python (preferred).
- Familiarity with financial services data, regulations, and industry concepts (preferred).
- Experience in a data governance or data strategy function (preferred).
