About the role Provide legal counsel and risk assessment regarding employment matters to HR and business stakeholders Serve as primary legal support for Human Resources partners, senior management, company executives and key functions Manage and select outside counsel and develop strategies for employment litigation Direct pre-litigation employment matters and responses to complaints from opposing counsel and government agencies Partner with leadership of HR, Sales, Operations, Finance, Safety and Compliance to support initiatives Provide daily advice and counsel regarding legal compliance and risk avoidance Manage outside counsel fees and costs to maintain efficiency Participate in cross-functional teams to support enterprise-wide initiatives, policies and strategies Prepare materials and conduct training for internal business clients on strategic initiatives and legal matters Requirements Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school 6+ years legal experience, including practicing and litigating at a law firm and in-house Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills Creative problem solving Aptitude to work collaboratively Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously Strong leadership skills and client service orientation Ability to manage high volume of employment and employment litigation matters Above-average command of English, both oral and written, and excellent grammar, proofreading, punctuation and spelling skills Above-average arithmetic skills Authorized to work in the United States Willingness/ability to travel up to 25% Ability to sit for long periods, perform lengthy typing tasks, multitask under stress Hybrid Role: In-office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
