Accountable for Business Development for independent Healthcare (HC) & Senior Living (SL) customers in the local and surrounding area
Add product lines to existing customers by identifying opportunities and incorporate team selling activities
Develop and deliver sales bids/proposals/presentations and conduct product demonstrations with key decision makers
Execute National Sales Team strategy and collaborate on opportunities to obtain new lines and recover lost lines of business
Identify opportunities to improve customer account profitability
Manage accurate sales pipeline, consultative activities, and customer contact information in CRM tool (Sysco 360)
Support quarterly business reviews with local customer headquarters to discuss joint opportunities to grow sales and improve profitability
Ensure customer contract compliance and define action plans to align to master service agreement (MSA)
Provide consultative services with market trends and insights and identify integration points with Specialty Companies (Fresh Point, European Imports, SOTF, Buckhead)
Engage the Customer Experience Team to escalate customer issues
Coordinate and lead activities and resources for targeted accounts and ensure follow-up on next step agreements
Provide education, promote offerings, and leverage resources to drive business growth with targeted accounts
Establish positive working relationships with all departments in the Region
Comply with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures and report hazards, incidents, and environmental spills
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
2 years or more of sales experience required
Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a business-related field; equivalent experience may be considered
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Travel required
Valid driver’s license in good standing with access to a vehicle
Professional salesperson with proven ability to cultivate relationships and grow sales
Strong financial acumen and ability to properly plan and execute business plans
Demonstrated skills in consultative selling, networking and negotiations
Business and restaurant operations acumen to manage sophisticated customers
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and influence a variety of key stakeholders
Ability to express information in terms of profit and loss, food cost and expense ratio
Persuasive communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with internal and external teams
Excellent organizational and project management skills, including ability to execute multiple initiatives simultaneously
Ability to learn proprietary CRM tools for planning and forecasting sales growth (Sysco 360)
Solid analytical problem-solving skills, including familiarity with analyzing reports and deriving insights from data
Proactive, self-directed, with the ability to structure a weekly schedule to be successful
Bilingual in English and French required
