Working Student Business Development, Partner Acquisition – EdTech

Syntax Institut

Business Development Intern establishing a nationwide partner network for EdTech startup in Germany. Collaborating with decision-makers for internship programs and maintaining CRM data.

About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You will build a nationwide network of corporate partners for our retraining internships from the ground up — independently, in a structured way and with a clear focus on closing deals.
  • You will research which companies in a target region are suitable internship partners for our future IT professionals, evaluate them by industry and suitability, and prioritize your outreach independently.
  • You will proactively approach decision-makers, clearly explain our retraining model, and drive conversations to a successful close.
  • Market research & qualification: You will conduct location-based research to identify companies in the target region that could serve as internship partners and assess them by industry, size and suitability (e.g. possession of a trainer certificate/AEVO).
  • First contact & outreach: You will independently prioritize your outreach based on company qualification. You will proactively contact stakeholders by phone (cold calling). At the same time, you will communicate by email or LinkedIn: clear, purposeful and professional.
  • Data maintenance & reporting: You will maintain your contacts and results in the CRM, build a strong partner pipeline by location and provide regular feedback on what works and what doesn’t.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ideally, you already have initial work experience in sales, promotion, call center, business development or a comparable role.
  • A basic affinity for the tech industry and IT job profiles is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a start-up or a dynamic environment is a plus.
  • You speak and write excellent German (C2).
  • You take ownership of your tasks and drive them forward independently.
  • Goal-oriented and structured working is important to you. You work carefully and with attention to detail and can organize yourself well.
  • Availability: You are an enrolled student and can reliably support us with up to 20 hours per week.

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • A business with purpose: With us you work on topics that are highly relevant economically, socially and politically (digitalization, competitiveness of Germany as a business location, labor market policy, equality, technology, etc.).
  • Steep learning curve in B2B sales: You will learn B2B cold outreach and partner management from scratch. You will work closely with our team and gain valuable hands-on experience in objection handling, negotiation and strategic networking — skills that will significantly enhance your CV.
  • Attractive package: Performance is rewarded! You will start with a guaranteed base of €14 per hour plus a performance-based bonus model. In addition to flexible working hours, you will benefit from a discounted sports offer through our partner Urban Sports Club and receive high-quality company devices (MacBook, iPhone).
