About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for a defined portfolio of small to medium sized accounts with consistent in person customer visits.
- Build strong relationships across customer functions including R&D, procurement, and innovation teams.
- Drive sales growth by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing customer engagement.
- Deliver introductory and mid-stage commercial presentations and product value propositions.
- Qualify new opportunities and coordinate project briefs with R&D and Applications teams.
- Support price discussions within established guardrails.
- Maintain CRM discipline including opportunity management, call reports, and revenue forecasting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project advancement and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in customer problem-solving and escalation support as needed.
- Attend trainings, industry events, and customer meetings with approximately 50%-60% travel.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with an area of discipline preferred in marketing, biology, chemistry or food science
- Five plus years of flavor ingredient sales experience calling on major food and beverage companies
- Proven ability to sell ingredients to multiple buying influences
- Significant understanding of, and contacts in, food and beverage markets and awareness of market and product trends
- Must be able to establish priorities and determine validity of assignments and project work for potential new business
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a team
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
