About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide administrative support to the AVP, Legal Operations and the Litigation team
  • Support supplier risk management throughout the supplier lifecycle, including onboarding, monitoring, and offboarding
  • Partner with Sourcing, Purchasing, Supplier Risk Management teams, subject matter experts, and legal supplier owners
  • Maintain required supplier risk management documentation and reporting
  • Manage day-to-day supplier purchasing and invoice inquiries
  • Support litigation case handling for lawsuits, regulatory inquiries, arbitration matters, threatened litigation, escalated customer complaints, and complex subpoenas
  • Manage multiple cases and projects under demanding deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Assist with litigation case intake and assignment
  • Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end litigation and settlement reports, including 1099 tax reporting
  • Coordinate with outside counsel, internal finance, and the Tax Center of Excellence on settlement payments, arbitration fees, contributions, account adjustments, and tax filings
  • Review, reconcile, and resolve law firm invoice billing issues
  • Assist with quarterly settlement check accruals
  • Serve as Litigation Database system administrator and maintain litigation records
  • Generate Legal Hold notices and reports
  • Assist with document production requests
  • Assist with in-person service of process across Synchrony hubs
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to attend the Supplier Manager course and become Supplier Manager certified
  • At least 3 years of Excel experience
  • Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn T360 and Exterro and serve as application administrator
  • Experience with OneFD
  • Experience with or ability to learn ACM, I2R, Debt Manager (DM 10), and Content Navigator Production
  • Experience with or ability to learn Coupa and SAS Viya
  • Willingness to work US time zones, 8 am–5 pm Monday–Friday, with a flexible schedule including overtime
  • Strong knowledge of Synchrony’s overall business operations
  • Familiarity with litigation documentation
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Professional etiquette, positive attitude, and good attendance
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and high ethical standards
  • Ability to receive and implement feedback
  • Well-developed time management and prioritization skills
  • Self-starting nature and demonstrated creative problem-solving ability
  • Experience in a legal environment or familiarity with litigation
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years old
  • Willingness to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation, and submit fingerprints
  • Ability to satisfy Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available
