About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute control testing to ensure key risks are mitigated
  • Document detailed test results to reperformance standards and meet required deadlines
  • Identify control gaps and potential issues
  • Discuss viable solutions with the business and obtain management action plans for remediation
  • Communicate test results to leaders and stakeholders across the business
  • Provide periodic updates on testing activity status
  • Challenge the business regarding risk and control assessments
  • Influence stakeholders and process owners to implement process and control modifications
  • Provide guidance to process owners on key risks and mitigation strategies
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of Audit, Testing, Quality or other Assurance function experience; in lieu of a degree, 7+ years of such experience in a financial institution
  • 3+ years of experience in banking laws and regulations
  • Experience applying analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of SAS and Tableau is a plus
  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
  • Experience using AI to develop testing scripts is desired
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Experience using Synchrony’s systems of record, data warehouses, or applications for credit, deposit, and lease products
  • Experience in Client Development & Sales
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation, and submit fingerprints as part of onboarding
  • Must satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; employment visa sponsorship is not available
