About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of end-to-end Cash Accounting processes, including transaction flow, key systems and data sources in order to provide expert guidance to support various projects, process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead assigned Cash Accounting projects from intake through implementation, including scope, plan, timeline, RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies), and status reporting.
  • Identify control gaps, reconciliation breaks, inefficiencies, and manual work; design and execute solutions using Lean/automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Controllership, Treasury, Compliance, Audit, and Technology teams to align requirements and deliver outcomes.
  • Define/track KPIs (e.g., aging, breaks, recon timeliness, exceptions, write-offs, SLA adherence) and provide recurring performance insights and dashboards.
  • Ensure procedures meet policy requirements; support internal/external audits and evidence preparation; strengthen documentation and control testing readiness.
  • Maintain SOPs, process maps, control narratives, and change logs; ensure smooth handoffs and knowledge transfer.
  • Manage stakeholder communications, training, and adoption plans to ensure solutions stick and teams are enabled.
  • Perform deep dives on recurring issues, define corrective actions, and drive closure with measurable results.
  • Provide recommendations to Process Owner/Managers based on data, trends, and operational risk considerations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in the banking or financial services industry; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Prior experience in Blackline reconciliation, manual journal entries, month end closing and reporting etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Software Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power Query, Power BI)
  • Excellent organization and follow up skills
  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
  • Ability to execute in a fluctuating environment
