About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide Quality leadership at customer installation sites and identify and resolve issues using structured quality methods
- Oversee up to 3 Symbotic installation sites simultaneously
- Train and oversee a dedicated local QC resource at each site
- Ensure Quality surveillance and inspections are completed and communicated effectively
- Monitor installation partners for compliance with installation processes and critical-to-quality parameters
- Plan, execute, and manage quality activities with suppliers and customer sites
- Use 8-D corrective action requests for root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
- Communicate issues across operations and drive closed-loop problem resolution
- Support disposition of discrepant material and qualification of new materials/processes
- Use Six Sigma and Lean methods to improve quality and processes
- Analyze product failures and develop corrective and preventive actions
- Mentor and coach site quality personnel
- Travel regularly, up to 75%
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of Quality Engineering experience within a regulated manufacturing industry
- Experience with quality management concepts, tools, and methods, including FMEA, DOE, MSA, GRR, and 8D
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with ability to translate findings into business actions
- Experience working with Engineering, Quality, Development Engineering, and Manufacturing
- Strong process engineering fundamentals and ability to identify critical control points
- Hands-on project management and teamwork skills with ability to establish and meet aggressive timelines
- Ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships
- Ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment
- Experience using Control Plans, FMEA, and PPAP or equivalent part approval processes
- Analytical problem-solving skills using root-cause methods such as 8D and A3
- Experience with reliability methods and failure mode analysis, including DFMEA and PFMEA
- Familiarity with statistical process control software such as SAA, Minitab, JMP, and MATLAB
- Advanced Excel skills for organizing and treating data
- Demonstrated experience influencing and driving corrective action with large global suppliers
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive and/or fly to client and customer locations
- Ability to work approximately 75% of the time at construction sites
- Ability to use required PPE, including hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, and fall protection
- Ability to work at heights up to 45 feet and in restrictive areas of 24 inches
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in temperatures from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit
- Must comply with safety requirements and protocols, including lockout/tagout and fall protection
