About the role
- Develop and implement transportation strategies aligned with business growth, service levels, and customer delivery expectations
- Oversee domestic and international freight operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align transportation plans with production schedules, project timelines, and inventory goals
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement
- Standardize logistics processes to support scalability and operational excellence
- Advance sustainability goals by promoting eco-efficient transportation solutions and reducing carbon emissions
- Manage daily international and cross-border shipments, ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations
- Direct relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and warehouse partners
- Oversee import/export documentation and standardize procedures for U.S., Canada, and Mexico operations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable trade laws and documentation standards
- Manage departmental budgets, freight billing accuracy, and performance metrics
- Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality
- Use data and analytics to optimize mode selection, routing, and carrier performance
- Evaluate insurance and risk management strategies to safeguard logistics operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or import/export, ideally within manufacturing or automation
- Proven success managing third-party logistics providers and customs brokers
- Strong knowledge of trade compliance, HTS/ECCN classification, and Incoterms
- Experience supporting project-based or capital equipment shipments preferred
- Proficiency in ERP and TMS platforms (SAP experience a plus)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Spanish language proficiency is an asset
