Key responsibilities & impact

Design and execute underwriting strategies that drive profitable growth while ensuring strong, risk-adjusted returns.
Establish and oversee underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and risk selection standards to ensure consistency and sound decision-making.
Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, underwriting KPIs, and loss trends to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize results.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of commercial underwriters, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering professional growth.
Conduct quarterly quality assurance audits, assess underwriting accuracy and compliance, and present actionable insights to senior leadership.

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of experience as an Underwriter in the commercial insurance space.
5+ years of experience handling coastal catastrophe risks.
2+ years of experience leading a team of underwriters.
Strong knowledge of commercial lines of business.
Previous experience working as an Underwriter for an MGA or carrier.
Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and drive strategic initiatives.
Producer license preferred, but not required.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Reliable high-speed internet connectivity required.
Designated quiet work from home space.
