About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and deploy edge-native software components for decentralized operation, sensing, and control
  • Develop federated data pipelines that allow distributed nodes to collaborate securely without central coordination
  • Integrate field data sources (SCADA, PMUs, DER controllers) and industrial IoT protocols (LoRa, MQTT, DNP3, Modbus)
  • Develop and deploy robust virtual sensing algorithms to infer critical power grid parameters from limited edge sensor data
  • Deploy adaptive edge intelligence and control logic to enable real-time grid insights with minimal latency
  • Collaborate with power systems engineers to validate virtual sensor performance against physical models and real-world field data
  • Bridge the gap between simulation environments and live grid operations to 'close the loop'
  • Integrate AI/ML capabilities, federated control frameworks, and digital twins into next-generation grid platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of experience
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or Rust (backend/edge) and TypeScript/React or Angular (UI)
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes/K3s, Kafka/NATS, MQTT, gRPC, and Pulsar
  • Hands-on experience with InfluxDB/TimescaleDB and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Proven experience with federated architectures, resilient edge software, and Transmission & Distribution (T&D) applications
  • Strong understanding of signal processing, control theory, and state estimation methods
  • Experience developing and deploying AI/ML models in production environments
