Design, implement, and optimize protection relay systems for EHV/HV substations considering safety/quality/Cost/time delivery criteria.
Ensure reliability and efficiency of power systems, supporting global operations.
Engage in secondary engineering activities related to Control & Protection, Substation Automation Systems, Telecom Requirements & LV Auxiliary Systems.
Execute objectives with workgroups as applicable.
Work within parameters to solve moderate complexity issues and resolve through action or planning.
Coordinate with GSI Global Engineering Center based on project requirements.
Provide technical leadership and interface with GSI Regions/GE Vernova Business Lines for estimating optimized manhour cost for engineering activities.
Prepare and present technical data to customers and document results of technical data generated.
Participate on teams addressing specific organizational initiatives and share engineering information while promoting open dialogue.
Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that provides competitive advantage.
Document technical data generated for projects/tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Perform electrical power systems studies, load flow, short circuit studies, and design scheme drawings as per project requirements.
Review/control designs and interface with major substation equipment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s (or) master’s degree in electrical engineering
5+ years of experience in substation protection relay systems within EHV Electrical Substations, Oil & Gas or Power Transmission industries.
Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) environments with multidisciplinary teams.
Experience of Secondary (CRP/SAS, Aux Systems, Telecom, Interface) engineering up to 765kV/400kV/220KV and HVDC Substations (AIS/GIS/SOLAR/WIND).
Experience/Knowledge on Relay Testing, Equipment Testing, Control / Protection scheme testing & SAS Commissioning experience (min 1 year) shall be given additional weightage.

Demonstrated ability to evaluate and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to manage programs / projects.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
Fluent in English; additional language (any foreign Language) is a plus.
Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Proven technical leadership in a complex system engineering development environment. Proactively serves on cross functional leadership teams; self-directed decision-making; Pulls in experts when needed.
