About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Science Chief Engineers
Drive performance management, talent development, succession planning, and hiring
Establish clear goals, role clarity, and effective operating rhythms for the team
Build consistency in how Science Chief Engineers drive innovation, technical decisions, and risk management
Partner with Product and Module Chief Engineers to ensure alignment across technical leadership roles
Identify organizational, capability, and resource gaps and work with leadership to address them
Support cross-functional collaboration and resolution of complex technical and organizational issues
Lead continuous improvement and organizational change efforts within the Chief Engineers Office
Develop direct interaction with GE Vernova ARC Science Technology counterparts
Develop operating rhythm to ensure Chief Engineers are technical leads on team’s hardest challenges

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related technical field or equivalent experience
Significant experience in engineering, applied science, product development, or technical leadership
Advanced degree in a relevant technical field or business (preferred)
Experience as a Chief Engineer, Science Chief Engineer, or senior technical leader (preferred)
Experience in complex, highly engineered, or regulated industries (preferred)
Demonstrated experience leading senior technical professionals in a matrixed environment (preferred)
Strong communication, coaching, and cross-functional leadership skills (preferred)
