About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Quickly learn and apply analytical methods, procedures, and techniques to solve problems
- Lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in the area of Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses
- Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses
- Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of BWR stability
- Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations
- Prepare, communicate, and present complex technical issues to internal and external customers and recommend solutions
- Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar)
- At least 2 years of relevant nuclear experience OR Master's degree in engineering
- Eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled information
- Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes
- Background in power plant or process plant thermal hydraulics
- Knowledge of the fundamental principles of nuclear engineering such as nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design, as applied to BWR
- Knowledge of two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques
- Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON
