About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- make immediate contributions to the team responsible for Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) transient analyses
- work within an energetic team environment to perform thermal-hydraulic and plant transient analyses to support a variety of applications including BWR reload analysis, power uprate and new power plant analyses
- deliver products at a consistently high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines
- interface with a variety of individuals with diverse backgrounds
- utilize unique opportunities to create and/or improve cutting-edge automation and methods
- prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations
- perform technical verification of engineering technical deliverables
- provide engineering expertise, guidance, and technical mentoring
- prepare, communicate, and present complex technical issues to internal and external customers and recommend solutions
- implement continual improvement of transient analysis work processes
- perform other relevant duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar)
- At least 8 years of relevant nuclear experience
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. Degree in Engineering; or Senior Reactor Operator Certification
- Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes
- Extensive knowledge of BWR Systems and integrated plant response
- Extensive knowledge of the fundamental principles of nuclear engineering such as nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design, as applied to BWR
- Experience with standard engineering work planning and design process techniques
- Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity
- Demonstrate a strong personal commitment and determination
- Detail-oriented and accountable for results
- Communicate with credibility and confidence
- Display a strong drive for continuous improvement
