About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Leading the technical definition and development of application solutions for service opportunities across industries and sectors such as Metals, Mining, Processing, Wind, Oil & Gas, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, standards, and business objectives.
Providing expert technical support to commercial and sales teams, including ownership of technical proposals, cost estimates, work scopes, and risk assessments.
Acting as a technical authority in customer engagements, including meetings, product presentations, and technical negotiations.
Collaborating closely with regional and global functions (Engineering, Commissioning, Sourcing, Project Management, Commercial) to deliver high-quality, competitive proposals.
Identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical and commercial risks across complex opportunities.
Specifying, reviewing and approving sub-supplier technical proposals, ensuring feasibility, compliance, and value.
Driving continuous improvement through lessons learned, standardization of technical proposals, and development of reusable solutions.
Mentoring and supporting junior application engineers, contributing to capability development within the team.
Proactively identifying opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and new market or service offerings.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Control Systems, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent significant experience in a relevant engineering environment.
Strong experience in Application Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical role within industry, power, O&G, renewable and offshore sectors.
Solid technical knowledge of Automation Systems, PLCs, Electrical Drives, Power Systems, and similar technologies, with the ability to lead system upgrade discussions.
Experience leading or owning sales proposals, technical tenders, or complex quotations.
Hands-on engineering experience in Power Systems, Control Systems, Variable Speed Drives, Industrial Automation, or Rotating Machines.
Proven ability to translate customer needs into technically sound and commercially viable solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging at both technical and commercial levels.
Strong leadership mindset, with experience guiding or mentoring engineers and influencing cross-functional teams.
