About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead direct reports, sub-disciplines, and contractors for engineering projects
- Optimize resource planning, recruiting, hiring, and retention
- Guide and direct sub-disciplines and engineers during project launching phase & execution
- Ensure proper management of interfaces with partners and suppliers
- Accountable for allocation of resources and approval of design subcontractors
- Develop quality procedures and improve engineering efficiency
- Conduct regular team and performance development meetings
- Support data gathering requirements for metrics and reviews
- Oversee deployment of engineering and automation tools
- Commit to compliance with quality procedures and support audits
- Lead business quality and transformation initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
- 15+ years of experience with power systems design & management including EPC projects
- 3+ years of experience leading a multi-discipline engineering team
- Professional Engineering License in the United States and willingness to review & seal drawings
- Fluent French speaking and writing
- Work experience in the specific portfolio you’ll be managing
- 5+ years of experience managing people, including resource loading, performance reviews, recruiting/hiring, training/development plans, and salary planning
- Project Management experience on power systems EPC projects
- 15+ years of engineering project execution experience in service and/or EPC type environments for high voltage AC Substations, and/or FACTS [STATCOM/Synchronous Condenser] and HVDC
- Demonstrated successful experience in project technical management of the discipline in a multi-disciplinary team’s context including multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries
- Experience in technical problem solving
- Mastering of involved discipline (process, tools, technical aspects)
