About the role
- Supporting customers and field technicians with complex power generation systems
- Working with Resource Managers, Site Leadership, and Engineering to execute contractual obligations per customer requirements
- Helping in all areas of job preparation
- Assisting in the creation of work instructions and standard work packages
- Coordinating with Resource Managers on labor, tooling, and materials to execute jobs
- Participating in pre-job meetings to discuss execution of work instructions, schedule, and hazard mitigation
- Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on wind turbines including performing diagnostic analysis
- Performing maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts to correct wind turbine malfunctions
- Mentoring junior wind technicians while troubleshooting and repairing complex electromechanical problems
- Documenting all work performed using company provided technology
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Senior Wind Technician
- Ability to work and communicate with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the wind site
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel 100% of the time
- Handle repetitive weight - 50 lbs and climb towers up to 300 feet daily
- Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300lbs including required climbing gear
- Ability and willingness to work in a range of outdoor environments and customer facilities
- Flexibility to work weekends, travel to a job on short notice, and rotating shift schedules as needed to complete wind turbine repairs
