About the role
- Define and improve purchasing strategies at a value-stream or site level, including management of regional and/or site teams
- Owns purchasing-relevant master data management, maintenance, and related processes
- Owns all site-specific and non-global quoting activities and processes, and improves Vendor On-Time Delivery for factories
- Collaborates with site materials teams, segment materials teams, and strategic sourcing teams to ensure a cohesive supplier panel is available and used by site teams to meet business targets
- As a senior leader within the materials management organization, responsible for mentoring talent and developing team members to take on broader responsibilities
- Lead short-term projects or teams to drive continuous improvement
- Define a holistic vendor strategy — prioritize non-global suppliers but coordinate with Global on areas of overlap
- Reduce RFQ turnaround time to world-class levels and align with Purchasing teams’ needs for faster PR-to-PO conversion
- Reduce vendor lead time and increase capacity
- Establish daily management for RFQ TAT, spot negotiations, cost-out, and single/sole-source elimination projects
- Create >25% additional capacity within the existing team through productivity improvement projects
- Eliminate tail-end vendor fulfillment and sole-source risks
- Drive non-global parts standardization with engineering
- Manage outsourced special processes (OSP) supplier relationships and purchasing activities
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited university or equivalent knowledge or experience
- 10+ years' experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or sourcing
- 8+ years' experience specifically in material planning or scheduling functions
- Fluent English required
- Engineering background preferred
