About the role
- implement, plan, manage, and establish project engineering processes in compliance with corporate and contractual requirements
- lead the development and coordination of engineering and design for assigned projects
- provide overall project leadership and mentoring other engineers
- articulate the work plan for the technical work scope requested
- work with project managers to develop and maintain good project schedules
- assure compliance to procedures, standards, and regulatory criteria
- establish best practices and leverage them within the team
- communicate effectively the status of engineering and project priorities
- meet customer commitments and drive continuous improvement
- apply in-depth specialized knowledge in electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering to technical strategy, resourcing, and planning
- develop, mentor, and conduct the overall project engineering program plan
- represent electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering concerns effectively
- provide expert consideration of system reliability, availability, and maintainability
- ensure the delivery of on-time, quality engineering documentation
- analyze problems, develop solutions, and make decisions on complex tasks
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, and/or controls engineering project management, design, or operation
- Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering business products, processes, customers, and competitive environment
- Excellent leadership, influencing, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience working with Government contracts and contracting requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Experience in power generation, industrial automation, or equivalent technical environment, with a focus on electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering aspects
- Proven ability to think strategically, be creative, and move quickly.
- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems specific to electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering.
- Primavera project scheduling tool experience.
- Graduate of GE leadership program (PMLP, JOLP, or similar).
