About the role
- Conducts component and system integration with overall new nuclear plant design
- All activities that span multiple components and systems that are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance, operability, and design to cost
- Perform identification of verification and validation (V&V) requirements at the plant, system, and component level
- Manages interface between systems, components, and project/product management organizations
- Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline
- Serves as best practice/quality resource
- Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area
- Contributes strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility
- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how your area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering
- Takes new perspective on existing solutions
- Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations
- Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM from an accredited university or college
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in nuclear commercial power
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% (U.S. and internationally, as required)
- For US the preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered
- For US this role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information
- For Canada GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening
- For Canada this position will report onsite to the Markham office 2 days a week (Tuesday's and Thursday's)
