About the role

  • Conducts component and system integration with overall new nuclear plant design
  • All activities that span multiple components and systems that are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance, operability, and design to cost
  • Perform identification of verification and validation (V&V) requirements at the plant, system, and component level
  • Manages interface between systems, components, and project/product management organizations
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline
  • Serves as best practice/quality resource
  • Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area
  • Contributes strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how your area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering
  • Takes new perspective on existing solutions
  • Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in nuclear commercial power
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% (U.S. and internationally, as required)
  • For US the preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered
  • For US this role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information
  • For Canada GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening
  • For Canada this position will report onsite to the Markham office 2 days a week (Tuesday's and Thursday's)
