About the role
- Develop the overall sourcing vision and strategy for the company, including execution of short-term goals and long-term direction for a global organization with a worldwide spend of close to $700M+ and growing
- Foster relationships with suppliers and communicates the vision to elicit as partners in the new direction of global sourcing management
- Develop and maintain on-going relationships with key suppliers, and establishes effective programs and to ensure “best in class” supplier performance
- Communicate and coordinate with regions and senior management including insightful analytics to support improved cost reduction and business decisions
- Lead the identification, selection and negotiations with the new and current vendors and suppliers in order to get the best conditions and find new alternatives of purchase
- Control resources and policy formation for global sourcing
- Formulate and deploy procedures governing all aspects of materials procurement, and supplier development supporting global operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and operating philosophy initiatives
- Lead organization transformation involving integration of teams, processes, systems and supplier
- Partner with parent company to leverage contracts, terms, agreements, systems and processes when appropriate
- Provide guidance to tactical procurement teams; ensure process integrity through compliance with internal policies and controls
- Drive evolution of advanced sourcing methods using ERP systems and procurement tools and process, supplier relationship software and supplier portals
- Prioritize and execute an evolving portfolio of strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost reduction and ensure capacity and supply continuity to enable achievement of business objectives
- Work with business leaders to develop a comprehensive approach to sourcing and spend management
- Provide in-depth analysis and planning to Implement continuous improvement processes within the supply chain group, as well as with suppliers
- Develop and implement commodity and supply chain strategies covering all commodities, services and supplier processes throughout a global enterprise to deliver maximum cost saving, leverage, and standardization
- Provide leadership to managers, supervisors, high-potential and high-performing staff of approximately 90 people and implement strategies to become a more competitive procurement function, driving enhanced economic value to the enterprise
- Implement and manage risk programs globally
- Develop and maintain a savings reporting mechanism with Finance, understood and accepted by the user departments
- Produce regular reports on performance and provide comprehensive management information and in-depth analysis when requested including spend analysis, savings secured and potential savings for forecast and budgets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration or similar related area, or the equivalent knowledge/experience
- Extensive years of experience in professional sourcing and supply chain experience
- Significant years of experience in managing and developing multi-discipline teams, preferably with international reach across multiple service types
- Membership in ISM (NAPM), with professional certification as a CPM preferred
- Energy, construction, engineering or related experience is preferred
- Must possess a solid understanding of supplier management practices and have experience with large-scale system implementations
