About the role

  • Perform plant thermal-hydraulic stability analyses, plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, and other safety analyses with general expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques
  • Take responsibility for fuel project activities including reload analyses, Stability methods implementation, new fuel design and introduction, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel issues
  • Perform in cross-disciplinary settings, engage with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutions
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate activities with internal and external project managers, technical personnel, and customers on technical issues
  • Prepare, document and present technical data to internal/external customers
  • Provide technical mentoring to support Stability Analysis staff development and knowledge management, including procedure development and adherence
  • Develop/deliver training course offerings in support of external commercial requests, as well as for internal audiences for knowledge management, and knowledge capture and transfer
  • Contribute to team process improvements to drive speed and simplification
  • Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in plant T-H Stability Safety Analysis and Methods
  • Experience in BWR Plant T-H Stability analyses, plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, stability setpoints methodology, and frequency and time domain methodologies
  • Ph.D. and/or M.S. Degree in Nuclear Engineering with experience in T-H modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems
  • Experience with BWR technology and BWR Stability analysis to support applicable regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of plant operational support in the Stability area
  • Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
  • Experience with BWR simulator and use of 3-D neutron kinetics (e.g., PANAC)
  • Experience with BWR/PWR T/H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP, & TRACE
  • Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON
