About the role
- Perform plant thermal-hydraulic stability analyses, plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, and other safety analyses with general expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques.
- Support fuel projects including reload analyses, methods implementation, new fuel introductions, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel issues.
- Prepare, document and present technical data to internal/external customers.
- Contribute to team process improvements to drive speed and simplification.
- Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university
- Experience in BWR plant thermal hydraulic stability safety analysis & methods
- Experience in Stability analyses, plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, stability setpoints methodology, and frequency and time domain methodologies
- M.S. Degree in Nuclear Engineering with experience in T/H modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems
- Experience with BWR technology and BWR Stability analysis to support applicable regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of plant operational support in the Stability area
- Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
- Experience with BWR simulator and use of 3-D neutron kinetics (e.g., PANAC)
- Experience with BWR/PWR T/H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP, & TRACE
- Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON
