About the role

  • Provide Technical Leadership of a small group of Engineers and Contractors in activities related to analyses, calculations and technical evaluations required for timely resolution of design and implementation issues
  • Manage project work schedules and priorities
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership in area of expertise to other engineers and projects
  • Support drafting of civil and mechanical design and/or equipment construction activities
  • Respond to vendor questions and deviation requests; review and approve vendor document submittals
  • Support the certification processes for GE Products (e.g. BWRX-300, VTR, Natrium)
  • Establish and maintain technical oversight of the applicable regulations (e.g.; US, other national, or global region)
  • Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or University
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a technology or engineering role
  • Master’s Degree or greater in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or University (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of Nuclear or Industrial Technology or Engineering experience is preferred
  • Nuclear Industry knowledge / experience
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, BWR core/fuel material behavior, and mechanical or structural design fundamentals
  • Knowledge of project management
  • Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)
  • Professional Engineer registration in one or more states
  • Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and process skills.
