About the role
- Define and champion the technical vision and strategy for our power systems platform within the solar and storage portfolio
- Act as the primary technical leader, ensuring rigorous alignment between product requirements and engineering execution
- Provide hands-on technical guidance to ensure our designs meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety for utility-scale applications
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and integration of cutting-edge power semiconductor devices, converter topologies, and advanced control algorithms to maintain our competitive edge
- Guide technical planning and implementation, ensuring seamless integration of power electronics subsystems with batteries, plant controls, and grid infrastructure
- Oversee rigorous testing (FAT, SAT, Commissioning) and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned
- Ensure all power systems designs meticulously comply with relevant grid codes, utility interconnection requirements, and industry standards (e.g., IEEE 1547, UL 1741, UL 9540, NFPA 855)
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, rigorous engineering practices, and cross-functional collaboration
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems/Power Electronics focus) required
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive engineering experience in power systems, and experience in a technical leadership role overseeing power electronics or inverter-based systems
- Demonstrated expertise in utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Proven hands-on expertise in power semiconductor devices, converter topologies, power electronics principles, and advanced control systems for grid-connected inverters
- Strong understanding of EMC/EMI principles and mitigation techniques for power electronics systems
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of a global organization
